    To był bardzo trudny późny wieczór dla polskich kibiców, którzy postanowili obejrzeć konkurs mikstów w skokach narciarskich podczas weekendu w amerykańskim Lake Placid. Polacy zajęli tylko siódme miejsce i byli lepsi jedynie od Japończyków, którzy zdecydowali się oszczędzić swoje największe gwiazdy. Na wysokości zadania stanął jedynie Paweł Wąsek, co daje światełko nadziei przed niedzielną rywalizacją. Dość niespodziewanie wygrali Niemcy, którzy pokonali m.in. wielkich faworytów Austriaków.

     

    Sobota w Lake Placid dla skoczków narciarskich była bardzo intensywna. Kilka godzin po rywalizacji kobiet i mężczyzn odbył się konkurs mikstów. Polskę reprezentowali Pola Bełtowska, Anna Twardosz, Aleksander Zniszczoł i Paweł Wąsek.

     

    Co ciekawe jeszcze przed startem rywalizacji, Polacy pewni byli udziału w drugiej serii, bo do konkursu przystąpiło tylko osiem drużyn. Przypomnijmy, że w Willingen Biało-Czerwoni zakończyli zmagania już na pierwszej serii.

     

    Pierwszą reprezentantką na belce była Pola Bełtowska. Polska zawodniczka, która w piątek zachwyciła, skacząc 131 m, osiągnęła w sobotni wieczór tylko 85 m, co było najkrótszą odległością w pierwszej rundzie. Niewiele lepiej poszło Zniszczołowi, który skoczył zaledwie 110 m. Takie próby sprawiły, że na półmetku Polacy zajmowali ostatnie miejsce.

     

    Tylko 98,5 m osiągnęła Anna Twardosz. Zdecydowanie najlepszym z Polaków w pierwszej serii był Paweł Wąsek. Lider naszej kadry skoczył 118 m, co tylko umocniło Biało-Czerwonych na siódmej lokacie.

     

    Bełtowska poprawiła się w drugiej serii, lecz 88 m to małe pocieszenie. Po pierwszej grupie Polacy spadli na ostatnie ósme miejsce. Zdecydowanie lepiej w swojej próbie zaprezentował się Zniszczoł. Skoczył 117,5 m, dzięki czemu Biało-Czerwoni zmniejszyli stratę do Japończyków do niecałych 6 pkt!

     

    Bardzo niespokojnie w powietrzu zaprezentowała się Twardosz. Mocne podmuchy pod wiatr dały jej jednak 103 m i przy słabej próbie Kikki Sakamoto (84 m), Polacy wrócili na siódmą lokatę.

     

    Pozytywny akcent na koniec zmagań mikstów w Lake Placid

     

    Na koniec Wąsek bardzo dobrze zaprezentował się Wąsek. Skoczył 123 m i pozytywnym akcentem zakończył sobotnie skakanie. Biało-Czerwoni zajęli ostatecznie siódme miejsce i wyrównali najlepszy wynik mikstowy w tym sezonie z Lillehammer. Jest jednak niewielkie pocieszenie, patrząc, że przed Polakami znaleźli się Amerykanie i Finowie. Nasza drużyna wyprzedziła jedynie Japonię, która nie wystawiła najmocniejszego składu.

     

    Wygrali Niemcy, którzy dość niespodziewanie pokonali Norwegię i naszpikowaną gwiazdami trzecią Austrię.

    To jeszcze nie koniec skakania w Lake Placid. W niedzielę zaplanowany jest drugi z konkursów indywidualnych mężczyzn. Start pierwszej serii już o godz. 16.00. Wcześniej rozegrane zostaną kwalifikacje (godz. 14.30). Relację będzie można śledzić na stronie Przeglądu Sportowego Onet.

    Tuż po godz. 14:00 do gry wkroczyły zespoły Eagles i Kites. Na mecze z udziałem Igi Świątek trzeba było chwilę zaczekać. Jej batalie poprzedzały dwa inne spotkania – mikst i męski singiel. W grze mieszanej zobaczyliśmy Paulę Badosę i Aleksandra Szewczenkę. Hiszpańsko-kazachski duet prowadził już 3:1, ale później przegrał cztery gemy z rzędu i ostatecznie to Jasmine Paolini i Casper Ruud cieszyli się z wygranej 6:4.

     

    Później doszło do singlowego starcia Szewczenki z Ruudem. Rosjanin reprezentujący Kazachstan słabo rozpoczął pojedynek, przegrywał z Norwegiem już 1:3. Wtedy wyraźnie się rozochocił. Złapał swoje momentu i miał nawet dwie okazje, by wyjść na prowadzenie 4:3 z przełamaniem. Niewykorzystane okazje zemściły się w dziesiątym gemie. Grający spokojnie Casper dopiął swego i zwyciężył 6:4. Dzięki temu podwyższył przewagę Kites do stanu 12-8.

     

    Świątek i Badosa straciły przewagę. Bardzo trudna sytuacja Team EaglesIga Świątek wchodziła zatem do gry przy niekorzystnym rezultacie dla jej zespołu. Najpierw Polka wystąpiła w duecie z Paulą Badosą. Po drugiej stronie siatki znalazły się Jasmine Paolini i Simona Halep.
