To ensure he could be present for the birth, Fowler decided to take a break from golf following The Open, which took place in July. This strategic break also explains his absence from the Wyndham Championship this week at Sedgefield Country Club, a crucial tournament for players aiming to secure a spot in the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

 

Before the Wyndham Championship, Fowler was positioned 104th in the FedEx Cup standings, still in the running for a playoff berth. However, with the likelihood of making the Playoffs now slim, Fowler can focus on cherishing precious moments with his newborn daughter. He will return to competition during the FedEx Cup Fall stage of the PGA Tour season in September.
