Obviously, he’s got his connection now as the Ryder Cup captain next year, and I wasn’t sure if he—because his captaincy was probably most helped by being an assistant captain for the first time. But he’s a player first and foremost, and you don’t want to take that opportunity from him. The way he played at the BMW, with his season on the line, beating an incredible field, it’s just a no-brainer.”
Leonard further stated that Bradley’s participation in the Presidents Cup could enhance his future captaincy. By playing and practicing alongside his teammates throughout the week, Bradley will have the chance to build rapport and gain valuable insights. Leonard added, “Honestly, him playing with this team will probably help his captaincy more. He’s going to get to know these guys, playing and practicing with them all week long.”
