claiming they engaged in fraudulent actions to eliminate competition. This fresh legal challenge follows the dismissal of Klayman’s original antitrust case in September 2023, which alleged that the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, Official World Golf Ranking, and prominent golfers like Woods and Rory McIlroy had colluded to restrict competition from the rival LIV Golf League. Although the initial case was dismissed, it is now under appeal in the U.S. 4th Circuit Court of Appeals.
In his new lawsuit, Klayman argues that Judge Luis Delgado, who dismissed the original antitrust case, delayed the proceedings to avoid exposing Woods’ alleged illegal conduct. Klayman contends that the powerful defendants and their legal teams used their influence to coerce the judge into making favorable rulings, shielding Woods from scrutiny.
In a statement, Klayman criticized the state of the legal system, stating, “No one is above the law, even a golfing icon like Tiger Woods, who broke racial barriers in the sport.” He claimed that the case reflects how powerful individuals and institutions can manipulate the legal process. Klayman also expressed his regret over filing the lawsuit, noting that it may upset Judge Delgado, but emphasized that the pursuit of justice and fair competition in professional golf was more important.
Klayman concluded by reaffirming his commitment to promoting a competitive golfing environment for the benefit of fans and consumers, stating his goal to “Make Professional Golf Great Again,” echoing the sentiments of former President Donald Trump, a known golf enthusiast.
