Tiger Woods Opens Up About His Heartfelt Wish for His Children and ex-wife ELIN NORDEGREN – You Won’t Believe What He Revealed!
Tiger Woods, the legendary golfer, recently shared some heartfelt insights into his family dynamics, shedding light on why his daughter, Sam, isn’t too keen on golf. In an interview with TODAY’s Carson Daly, Woods revealed that Sam, now 16, developed a negative association with the game during her upbringing because it often meant her father had to be away for weeks at a time.
“Growing up, golf took Daddy away from her,” Woods shared with Daly. “So we developed our own relationship, our own rapport, outside of golf.”
While Sam isn’t into golf, Woods’ son Charlie, 15, is making waves in the sport. However, even Charlie, who usually heeds his father’s advice, has been exhibiting some teenage rebellion lately.
“He’s 15 years old,” Woods remarked. “It’s what happens — it’s what teenagers go through. They’re trying to find their own place in the world.”
Woods, who shares Sam and Charlie with his ex-wife Elin Nordegren, reflected on the wish that his late father, Earl, could have met Charlie, and vice versa.
“I wish my dad could have met Charlie. I wish Charlie could have met my dad,” Woods lamented. “They would have loved each other.”
Despite Earl’s passing in 2006, Woods feels his father’s presence, especially when he’s parenting his own children.
“It’s amazing how many things I say to my kids that came from him,” Woods shared. “I’m so happy he was a part of my life and that I get to pass on some of stuff that is in me (because) of him.”
Woods also touched upon the tradition of wearing red on Sundays and the final day of tournaments, attributing it to his mother’s belief in red as his “power color.” This tradition, which began in his teenage years, has become a symbolic tie to his mother, Kultida Woods.
