Tyson Fury has boldly declared that even after consuming 15 pints, he believes he could defeat Oleksandr Usyk, the Ukrainian heavyweight boxing champion.

The much-anticipated bout between Fury and Usyk was initially scheduled for February but was postponed due to Fury sustaining a severe cut during sparring. Now rescheduled for May 18 in Saudi Arabia, the fight aims to determine the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

Fury brushed off concerns about the delay affecting him negatively, stating, “God’s timing is impeccable, perfect. It’s not late, it’s not early, it’s bang on time.” Confident in his preparation, Fury emphasized his peak physical condition and the support of his team, including his father, John Fury, whom he called his “secret weapon.”

In a bold assertion, Fury claimed that even if he were to enter the ring without training, weighing 25 stone, and consuming 15 pints of Peroni beforehand, Usyk would still struggle to challenge him. Referencing Usyk’s victory over Derek Chisora in 2020, Fury highlighted the competitive nature of the bout, suggesting Usyk would face similar difficulties against him.

Reflecting on his past victories, particularly his triumph over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015, Fury reiterated his confidence in his abilities. He stated, “If Tyson Fury can’t beat Usyk, Tyson’s no good, end of. But if I beat him, I beat another man, great, fantastic, on to the next one.”
