Hailing from Stockholm, former teenage model Nordegren started her journey as an au pair for fellow Swede and golfer Jesper Parnevik. Transitioning to full-time life in the United States, the 21-year-old found herself the subject of romantic advances from Parnevik’s fellow Tour members.

Her path crossed with Woods’ at the 2001 Open Championship. Despite initially rejecting his advances and being involved with someone else back in Sweden, she eventually agreed to a date with the PGA Player of the Year.
