Tyson Fury has experienced several notable moments of adversity throughout his career but has consistently demonstrated resilience.

Most famously, Fury faced significant challenges in his trilogy against American knockout artist Deontay Wilder between 2018 and 2022. In their first fight, while still navigating a comeback from mental health struggles, Fury was knocked down hard in the 12th round. Despite this, he rose dramatically and managed to secure a controversial draw by dominating the final round. Fury went on to defeat Wilder in their subsequent two bouts.

In October of the previous year, Fury faced a surprising challenge from MMA star Francis Ngannou, who was making his boxing debut. Fury was unexpectedly knocked down but recovered to win by points after 10 rounds.

In his latest fight, Fury was given a 10-count against Oleksandr Usyk during their undisputed title match, although he did not actually hit the canvas. Despite his efforts, Fury was unable to turn the fight around and suffered his first professional loss.

Reflecting on his career, Fury shared a memorable exchange with Derek Chisora on the Out of Interest Podcast. After their third fight in December 2022, Fury, who won all three bouts against Chisora, confessed he felt as though he had “been run over by a train,” while Chisora, in Fury’s view, must have felt like he had “been dropped out of a plane.”

Fury is scheduled to return to the ring in December for a rematch with Usyk, aiming to avenge his only defeat and reclaim three of the four major world heavyweight titles in Saudi Arabia.
