Tony Bellew explains what he would want to fight Carl Froch
Former cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellew has hinted at a potential comeback to the boxing ring, suggesting that if the financial incentive is compelling enough, he could lace up his gloves once again.
Bellew, renowned as one of Britain’s finest boxers, transitioned smoothly into a pundit role following his illustrious career in the ring, which saw him clinch the world championship title. Similarly, Carl Froch, another distinguished figure in British boxing, has also found success in the media after his tenure as a super middleweight champion.
Despite both athletes now in their forties, murmurs of a potential return to the ring have occasionally surfaced, with Froch even entertaining the idea of a bout against Bellew.
In a conversation with Spinbet, Bellew expressed openness to the proposition, confidently asserting his belief in his own victory. He quipped, “Was Carl Froch truly joking? With Carl, you can never be entirely certain. While I’m unsure of the exact price tag to entice me into the ring for an exhibition bout against Carl, one thing is certain – it wouldn’t go the distance.”
He added, “If someone presents the right offer, I regret to say that I would indeed step back into the ring. Financial considerations are paramount for everyone, and if the price is right, then one must seize the opportunity.”
Bellew’s remarks suggest that while retirement may seem a settled chapter, the allure of the ring and a lucrative offer could potentially reignite the competitive fire within him.
