Tiger Woods appears poised to tee off for his 26th Masters appearance, according to ESPN’s latest report. The golf legend, boasting five Masters victories, was spotted honing his skills at the Augusta National Golf Club, having flown in from Florida on Sunday accompanied by his caddie, Lance Bennett, who previously teamed up with Woods at the Genesis Invitational in February.
Notably, Augusta National Golf Club shared snapshots of Woods in action through a social media post on X, further fueling anticipation for his return to the prestigious tournament.
Woods aims to etch his name in history once again by pursuing his 24th consecutive made cut at the Masters. He currently stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Gary Player and Fred Couples, who hold the record of 23 consecutive made cuts. However, Woods’ pursuit was interrupted in 2023 due to plantar fasciitis, forcing him to withdraw ahead of the third round. A setback at the Genesis Invitational earlier this year, where he withdrew due to illness, added to the challenge.
Jon Rahm of Spain enters the tournament as the defending champion, a title Woods last clinched in 2019. Throughout his illustrious career, Woods has triumphed at the Masters in 1997, 2001, 2002, and 2005, solidifying his legacy as one of golf’s greatest icons.
