Kim, who made a surprise return to the sport in 2024 after a 12-year hiatus, signed with LIV Golf earlier this year as one of the league’s wildcards, alongside Hudson Swafford. However, his comeback has been challenging, as Kim struggled to recapture the form that once made him one of golf’s most promising talents.

In 2024, Kim participated in 10 LIV events, with his best performance coming at LIV Greenbrier in August, where he finished 36th—his only time finishing inside the top 40 of the season. With LIV’s season ending in September, Kim’s future remains unclear. He is not currently attached to any team, and it is uncertain whether he will return to the league in 2025, as he would need to be picked up by one of the 13 LIV franchises or receive another wildcard spot.

To stay sharp and prepare for whatever opportunities may arise, Kim recently shared several swing videos on his X account, showcasing his practice sessions on the driving range and putting green. Hank Haney, a respected golf coach, reposted the videos, praising Kim’s swing and offering words of encouragement: “This is a great golf swing, keep it up @AnthonyKim_Golf.”

Kim is set to compete in the Asian Tour’s International Series event in Qatar later this month, where he will join other LIV Golf stars such as Louis Oosthuizen, Patrick Reed, and Charl Schwartzel. The event will also feature players like John Catlin and Ben Campbell, who are hoping to secure a spot in LIV Golf for 2025 by ranking highly in the Order of Merit.

Earlier in 2024, Kim played in the Macao Open on the Asian Tour, where he missed the cut. Despite the challenges, Kim has remained open about his motivations for returning to golf, emphasizing his priority of providing for his family. He shared in Miami that, regardless of his performance, his daughter’s love for simple joys like strawberry ice cream is what truly brings him happiness: “Golf, you know, through these experiences with my family, every experience I get to have, I appreciate that more, and it makes golf a lot more simple.”
