Tiger Woods faced a tough start on……..

Tiger Woods faced a challenging start to his marathon day as the 88th Masters resumed at Augusta National. After a weather delay left him and 26 other players unable to complete their first rounds on Thursday, Woods found himself covering 13 holes at one under par.

As play resumed on Friday, Woods stumbled with a bogey on the 14th hole due to a clumsy chip from short of the green. He managed to salvage a par on the 15th after another misjudged approach. However, missed birdie opportunities on the 16th and 17th holes left him wanting before dropping a shot on the last hole, failing to recover from a greenside bunker.

Finishing with an opening round of 73, Woods had just 49 minutes to rest or practice before his second round was set to begin.

Playing alongside Woods, Max Homa showcased a strong performance, birdieing the 16th and narrowly missing an eagle on the 17th before finishing with a bogey on the 18th, ultimately carding a commendable 67.

Denmark’s Nicolai Hojgaard also impressed in his Masters debut, posting a 67 to tie for third place with Homa, just two shots behind the leader, Bryson DeChambeau.

Meanwhile, former champion Jordan Spieth faced challenges of his own, as he headed towards only his second missed cut in 11 Masters appearances. A quadruple-bogey nine on the 15th hole marred Spieth’s round, as he struggled with his third shot, ultimately finding the water. After taking a penalty drop, he struggled to recover, ultimately finishing with a six-over-par score.
