When asked about Ted Scott’s condition after the round, Scheffler explained that he was aware of his caddie’s sickness before they teed off. “He was up all night battling some sort of stomach issue. We weren’t sure if it was food poisoning or a bug,” Scheffler revealed. “He seemed to get better as the day went on, thanks to the doc here who took good care of him. But he didn’t sleep much last night. We weren’t sure if he could even caddie this morning, but he pushed through.”

 

Scheffler went on to describe the unusual scenes on the course, noting, “It was strange not having him standing by the bag as usual. At one point, on the 10th tee, he was sitting for about 10 minutes while we were putting out on the 9th. I couldn’t even see him, which was a bit concerning. But he’s a fighter and did a great job today despite everything.”
