McIlroy, who had suggested that LIV Golf could coexist with the PGA Tour in a limited capacity, received a critical response from Garcia, who believed LIV deserved more recognition. When asked about Garcia’s response at the Dubai Desert Classic, McIlroy dismissed it with a pointed remark: “Yeah, Sergio feels he deserves a lot of things.”

In an Instagram Q&A, Garcia listed McIlroy among his favorite golfers, alongside Jon Rahm and his teammates at Fireballs. “I love to watch my friends,” he said. “The guys I get along with… Guys like Jon Rahm, my teammates at Fireballs, and Rory.”
