Scottie Scheffler Plays Tourist in Paris During Olympics as He Jokes His Infant Son ‘Loved the Louvre’
Scottie Scheffler is making the most of his time in Paris as he prepares to represent Team USA at the 2024 Summer Olympics. The renowned golfer, who has already claimed victory at two Masters tournaments, is embracing his role as a tourist in the French capital, accompanied by his wife Meredith and their three-month-old son, Bennett.
Scheffler has been sharing glimpses of their Parisian adventure on Instagram, delighting his followers with snapshots from their travels. In one post, the family visited the iconic Louvre museum, where Scheffler humorously noted that Bennett, despite his tender age, “loved the Louvre.” The family’s outing also included a picturesque moment on a bridge over the Seine River, where they posed under a charming umbrella.
In addition to exploring famous landmarks, Scheffler has been indulging in some of Paris’s culinary delights. His Instagram Story features a video of a local woman preparing a crêpe, which he captioned with enthusiasm, “Crêpes in Paris are [fire].” Another Story showcased a selection of pastries, including a chocolate croissant, with Scheffler commenting, “…so are these.”
The 2024 Olympics mark Scheffler’s debut in the Games, a milestone that he is clearly thrilled about. Representing the United States in golf alongside teammates Wyndham Clark, Xander Schauffele, and Collin Morikawa, Scheffler expressed his excitement about the experience in an interview with Team USA in June. He described the opportunity to compete on an Olympic stage as “extremely exciting” and noted the added appeal of using the Games as a rebuttal to critics who question whether golf is a sport. “Playing for your country is always extremely exciting and it will be pretty surreal doing it on the Olympic stage,” he said. “It’s also good bragging rights for people that tell me golf is not a sport — I can say it’s an Olympic sport.”
Scheffler is also looking forward to immersing himself in the broader Olympic experience. “I’m just excited to go there and experience the Olympics, see some other sports, go to the Village, see other athletes and just be part of it all. It should be a fun, special week,” he remarked.
In a light-hearted moment shared on his Instagram Story, Scheffler posted a video with his caddie, Ted Scott, where the pair humorously pretended to be part of Team USA’s tennis team, playfully captioning it, “Just pretending we are Team USA tennis.”
