Responding to each rumor is a fool’s game. Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”

Friends close to McIlroy believe his change of heart might be driven by the potential financial impact of the divorce. The four-time major winner, with a fortune of over $257 million, was reportedly concerned about the substantial legal fees that could arise from the split. A friend commented, “Perhaps the cold realization of exactly how much the divorce could cost him hit hard. McIlroy has amassed a fortune of more than £200m [$257m], and his projected career earnings are expected to be more than double that figure. On May 13, Stoll was served with divorce papers at their home in Jupiter, Florida. She had 20 days to respond but did not file any counterclaim or register an attorney by the June 2 deadline. During this period, McIlroy was linked to CBS Sports reporter Amanda Balionis, leading to further speculation. Despite these rumors, McIlroy has now confirmed he is back with Stoll.
