Derek Chisora reveals the fighter he believes could defeat both Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
On May 18, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will face off for the undisputed world heavyweight championship, airing live on DAZN PPV. The winner of this highly anticipated clash is expected to set the stage for a future showdown with Anthony Joshua.
Former opponent of both Fury and Usyk, Derek Chisora, is confident in Joshua’s ability to emerge victorious against either fighter. Speaking to Crypto Casino LTD, Chisora emphasized Joshua’s transformation under the guidance of trainer Ben Davison, who took over last year.
Chisora stated, “I’m picking AJ over Fury all day long if it gets made. His power would be too much for Fury, and with Davison’s insight into Fury’s style, I believe AJ has the edge.”
Despite Usyk’s recent victories over Joshua in 2021 and 2022, Chisora still favors Joshua in a potential rematch. He acknowledged Usyk’s prowess but believes Joshua’s aggressive approach under Davison would lead to a decisive victory.
“AJ would wipe the floor with Usyk under Ben Davison. He’s shown incredible power and versatility in recent bouts, and I don’t see it going beyond six rounds,” Chisora remarked.
However, Chisora acknowledged Usyk’s status as the current best heavyweight, praising his accomplishments as a gold medalist and undisputed cruiserweight champion. He emphasized Usyk’s potential to solidify his status as the pound-for-pound best with one more victory.
“In one more fight, Usyk can prove he is the pound-for-pound best fighter and make history for Ukraine,” Chisora concluded.
